Product Overview

The Huawei S2720-12TP-EI is a next-generation access switch that belongs to the S2720-EI series of enterprise switches. Independently developed by Huawei, this high-performance access switch offers flexible combinations of Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet access ports along with Gigabit uplink ports.

Built on next-generation high-performance hardware and powered by Huawei’s unified VRP (Versatile Routing Platform) software, the S2720-12TP-EI supports intelligent iStack stacking, flexible Ethernet networking, and diverse security controls. It supports multiple Layer 3 routing protocols, delivering higher performance and richer service processing capabilities.

The switch is equipped with four 10/100BASE-TX ports, four 10/100/1000BASE-T ports, two combo ports (10/100/1000BASE-T + 100/1000BASE-X), and two 1000BASE-X SFP ports. With a switching capacity of 128 Gbps and a forwarding rate of 12.6 Mpps, it is widely deployed in enterprise campus access scenarios, Fast Ethernet-to-desktop with Gigabit uplink applications, and various other use cases.

The S2720-12TP-EI supports intelligent stacking (iStack) technology, which combines multiple physical switches into a single logical device. Member switches in a stack implement redundancy backup to improve device reliability and use inter-device link aggregation to enhance link reliability. iStack also simplifies device configuration and management – after a stack is set up, you can log in to any member switch in the stack to manage all member switches.
