Huawei S1720-28GWR-4X-AC – Product Datasheet
Product Overview
The Huawei S1720-28GWR-4X-AC is a high-performance managed Gigabit Ethernet switch from the Huawei S1700 series, designed primarily for access layer deployment in enterprise networks. It delivers cost-effective packet switching capabilities with multi-service access, excellent extensibility, Quality of Service (QoS) guarantee, powerful multicast replication, and carrier-class security.
The switch is equipped with 24× 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet ports for edge device connectivity and 4× 10GE SFP+ uplink ports for high-bandwidth fiber backbone connections. With a switching capacity of 168 Gbit/s and forwarding performance of 96 Mpps, it provides exceptional throughput for demanding network environments.
The S1720-28GWR-4X-AC supports Layer 2 managed switching with advanced features including VLAN (up to 4K VLANs), QoS, STP/RSTP/MSTP, IGMP snooping, static routing (IPv4 and IPv6), link aggregation (up to 64 LAGs), port mirroring, and comprehensive security features such as 802.1x authentication, RADIUS, and MAC-based packet filtering. It can be managed via a web-based GUI, SNMP, or CLI. The web-managed model can also be upgraded to a fully-managed model with a license.
The switch features a fanless, passively cooled design (non-PoE model) for silent and energy-efficient operation, supports Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) to reduce power consumption based on cable length, and accepts a wide-range AC power input (100V–240V, 50/60Hz) with a maximum power consumption of just 27.9W. Its compact 1U rack-mountable form factor (320 × 220 × 43.6 mm) makes it ideal for small-to-medium enterprises, campus networks, branch offices, and data-intensive 24×7 operating environments.
