Product Overview
The Huawei CloudEngine CE6865E-48S8CQ is a next-generation, high-performance Top-of-Rack (TOR) data center switch designed for high-density 25GE server access and 100GE uplink connectivity. It is part of the CloudEngine 6800 series and is engineered to meet the demanding requirements of cloud computing data centers and high-end campus networks.
This 1U switch features advanced hardware architecture with 48 x 25GE SFP28 downlink ports and 8 x 100GE QSFP28 uplink ports, delivering a forwarding performance of 2000 Mpps with L2/L3 line-rate forwarding . The QSFP28 ports offer flexible configuration options, capable of operating as a single 40GE QSFP+ port or being split into four 25GE SFP28 or 10GE SFP+ ports .
Powered by Huawei’s next-generation VRP8 operating system, the switch supports rich data center features including M-LAG (Multichassis Link Aggregation Group) for device-level redundancy, up to 16-unit stacking for scalability, and VXLAN hardware gateway capabilities for overlay network virtualization . The hardware supports flexible airflow direction (port-side intake or exhaust) and is optimized for all-flash storage networks with iLossless algorithms and NVMe Over Fabric+ (NOF+) architecture support .
The CE6865E-48S8CQ is ideally positioned for spine-leaf CLOS architectures in data centers, working seamlessly with Huawei CloudEngine 16800 or 12800 core switches to build elastic, virtualized 100GE fully-connected networks .
