Product Overview

The Huawei OceanStor S5500T is a unified storage system within the OceanStor T series, designed for mid-range to high-end enterprise applications. It delivers high performance, comprehensive data protection, and flexible scalability to meet diverse business requirements including large database OLTP/OLAP, high-performance computing, digital media, internet operations, centralized storage, backup, disaster recovery, and data migration.

The system features a 2U dual-controller architecture with a multi-core multiprocessor design. It supports unified SAN and NAS storage protocols, allowing both structured and unstructured data to be managed within a single system. The S5500T integrates Huawei’s TurboBoost performance acceleration technology, SmartCache SSD caching, and HyperThin thin provisioning to optimize resource utilization and reduce total cost of ownership. Major components and data access channels are fully redundant, ensuring high availability for 24×7 operations. The system has been certified for VMware vSphere 5, including VAAI, SRM, and VASA integration.
