Product Overview
The Huawei OceanStor 5800 V3 is a mid-range, enterprise-class unified storage system designed for cloud-oriented architectures. It combines a high-performance hardware platform with the OceanStor OS, a storage operating system that enables seamless convergence across multiple dimensions: SAN and NAS, performance and capacity, primary and backup, and heterogeneous storage environments .
Powered by next-generation Intel multi-core processors and PCIe 3.0 internal bus architecture, the 5800 V3 delivers sub-millisecond latency when fully configured with SSDs. The system scales horizontally to a maximum of eight controllers, supporting up to 1,250 disks per dual-controller configuration and a maximum storage capacity of 12 PB .
Targeted at large OLTP/OLAP databases, file sharing, and cloud computing workloads, the OceanStor 5800 V3 is widely deployed across government, finance, telecom, energy, and media industries . Its SmartIO card technology enables software-defined networking interfaces, supporting 16 Gbit/s Fibre Channel, 10 Gbit/s FCoE, and 10 Gbit/s TOE through a single card with configurable protocols .
