Product Overview

The Dell EMC PowerEdge R230 is a single-socket 1U rack server designed for small and medium businesses (SMB) and remote office/branch office (ROBO) environments. It serves as an excellent first server or replacement server for driving common business applications.

Compared to its predecessor, the PowerEdge R220, the R230 delivers greater memory capacity, more hard drive options, and additional I/O slots. It accelerates data throughput and IOPS performance with support for PCIe 3.0 expansion slots and PERC9 storage controllers. The R230 supports up to four DDR4 DIMM slots with a maximum memory capacity of 64GB, driving application performance and fast response times. With support for up to four internal 3.5-inch cabled or hot-plug hard drives, it accommodates data growth over time.

Remote monitoring and control of the R230 is provided by the integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC8) with Lifecycle Controller, making it well-suited for remote deployments. The system is virtualization-ready, supporting Microsoft Windows Server with Hyper-V and VMware vSphere ESXi.
