Product Overview

The Dell PowerEdge R330 is a single-socket 1U rack server designed for small and medium businesses (SMB) and remote office/branch office (ROBO) environments. It serves as an excellent first server or replacement server for SMB and also as an affordable ROBO server for larger institutions.

Compared to the previous-generation PowerEdge R320, the R330 supports DDR4 memory instead of DDR3, PERC9 storage controllers instead of PERC8, iDRAC8 instead of iDRAC7, and Intel Xeon E3 processors instead of the previous-generation Intel Xeon E5 . The R330 can accommodate up to four internal 3.5-inch cabled or hot-plug hard drives, or up to eight 2.5-inch hot-plug hard drives, providing flexibility for data growth . Memory capacity can be expanded through four DIMM slots supporting up to 64GB of DDR4 memory, driving application performance and rapid response times .

The R330 is virtualization-ready, supporting Microsoft Windows Server with Hyper-V, VMware vSphere ESXi, and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization . It features two PCIe 3.0 slots delivering 2x data throughput compared to PCIe 2.0, and with PERC9 delivers 2x IOPS performance compared to the previous-generation R320/PERC8 . System management is provided by the integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 8 (iDRAC8) with Lifecycle Controller, enabling rapid, confident, and worry-free server deployment, configuration, and updates .
