1. Product Overview
The Dell EMC PowerEdge R730 is a highly versatile 2U, two-socket rack server designed for a broad range of demanding enterprise workloads. It combines exceptional processor performance with large memory capacity, extensive I/O options, and highly scalable local storage to deliver flexibility across diverse deployment scenarios.
Powered by the Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 or v4 product family, the R730 supports up to 22 cores per processor and up to 24 DDR4 DIMM slots, enabling it to handle intensive applications such as data warehousing, e-commerce, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), databases, and high-performance computing (HPC).
The server offers flexible storage configurations with support for up to sixteen 2.5-inch drives or eight 3.5-inch drives, allowing organizations to choose between high-density performance storage and cost-effective high-capacity storage. With up to seven PCIe 3.0 expansion slots, dedicated PERC RAID controller options, and support for GPU accelerators, the R730 provides the scalability needed for virtualization, database acceleration, and graphics-intensive workloads.
