Product Overview

The Huawei CloudEngine CE6857E-48T6CQ is a high-performance, 1U top-of-rack (TOR) data center switch designed for high-density 10GE server access and 100GE uplink connectivity. It belongs to the CloudEngine 6800 series, which is positioned for data center access layers and can also serve as a campus network core or aggregation switch .

The switch features 48 x 10GBASE-T RJ45 downlink ports that are backward compatible with 1GE, and 6 x 100GE QSFP28 uplink ports that also support 40GE mode . The 10GE copper ports comply with IEEE 802.3an and 802.3az standards and require Category 6A shielded Ethernet cables or higher for optimal performance, with a maximum transmission distance of 100 meters .

The CE6857E-48T6CQ supports flexible port breakout capabilities dependent on the software release. In V200R020C10, 40G/100G uplink ports do not support splitting. In V2R21C00 and later versions, only uplink ports 3 and 4 can be split into 4x25GE or 4x10GE interfaces .

The switch employs a modular cooling system with four pluggable fan modules and two power supply slots. The airflow direction (front-to-back or back-to-front) must be consistent across fan and power modules and is determined by the selected modules .
