Product Overview

The Huawei S5700-28P-LI-BAT-AC is a next-generation energy-saving Gigabit Ethernet switch from the S5700-LI series, designed for enterprise access layer deployments. Built on the high-performance Huawei Versatile Routing Platform (VRP), this switch delivers 24 × 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet ports and 4 × GE SFP ports, providing flexible Gigabit access with fiber uplink capabilities.

What distinguishes the S5700-28P-LI-BAT-AC from standard enterprise switches is its integrated battery backup system. The switch features a dedicated battery slot that supports optional BAT-4AHA or BAT-8AHA rechargeable lithium battery modules, as well as an external lead-acid battery via the PBB-12AHA charger module. In the event of a mains power failure, the battery automatically supplies power to ensure uninterrupted network services. When AC power is restored, the battery automatically switches to charging mode. This design is particularly valuable for distributed access layer deployments where deploying traditional Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) is costly and space-consuming.

The switch also supports a 150 W AC or DC power module as a redundant power source, further enhancing power reliability. With a switching capacity of 256 Gbps and a forwarding performance of 42 Mpps, the S5700-28P-LI-BAT-AC delivers robust Layer 2 switching capabilities combined with comprehensive security, QoS, and management features. Its innovative energy-saving technologies—including Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE), port power detection, dynamic CPU frequency adjustment, and device sleep mode—help reduce operational power consumption without compromising performance.
