Product Overview
The Huawei CloudEngine CE9855-32DQ is a next‑generation, high‑density 400GE access switch designed for modern data center (DC) scenarios. As part of the CloudEngine 9855 series, it features an advanced hardware architecture that delivers high‑density 400GE access ports, supports 400GE uplink ports, and provides a wide range of DC service features with flexible airflow direction (front‑to‑back or back‑to‑front).
The switch comes in a fixed‑configuration form factor and provides 32 × 400GE QSFP‑DD ports and 2 × 10GE SFP+ ports (uplink and downlink not distinguished). Each 400GE QSFP‑DD port is backward compatible with 200GE/100GE/40GE interfaces and can be split into four 100GE ports or two 200GE ports. The switch can connect to CloudEngine 16800/16800‑X series core switches through 40GE/100GE/200GE uplinks to build a non‑blocking network platform.
The CE9855‑32DQ runs on Huawei’s next‑generation operating system and supports a rich set of data center features including VXLAN routing and bridging, BGP‑EVPN, M‑LAG, and intelligent lossless networking with the iLossless algorithm for RoCEv2 applications. It seamlessly integrates with CloudEngine 16800/16800‑X series DC core switches to build an elastic, virtualized, high‑quality, and fully‑connected 40GE/100GE/200GE/400GE data center network. The switch can also function as a core or aggregation switch in campus networks.
Key differentiators include high‑density 400GE access with 32 QSFP‑DD ports, flexible port rate adaptation and splitting (400GE → 4×100GE or 2×200GE), M‑LAG for cross‑device link aggregation with active‑active load sharing and independent upgrade capability, advanced virtualization with VXLAN and BGP‑EVPN, intelligent lossless network features (iLossless algorithm, PFC deadlock prevention, AI ECN), comprehensive Telemetry and iFIT for intelligent O&M, and Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) for automated deployment.
The chassis is supplied without fan boxes and power modules, which must be ordered separately. It supports 1+1 redundant, hot‑swappable power modules and N+1 redundant, hot‑swappable fan modules.
