The Huawei CloudEngine S5736-S48S4X-D is a next-generation, standard all-optical Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for high-performance enterprise campus networks and high-density fiber access scenarios . Based on Huawei’s Versatile Routing Platform (VRP), this fully managed Layer 3 switch delivers robust routing capabilities, simplified operations and maintenance (O&M), and flexible Ethernet networking .
The switch features 48 Gigabit SFP downlink ports and 4 10GE SFP+ uplink ports, providing a switching capacity of up to 2.72 Tbps and a forwarding rate of 480 Mpps . Its compact 220 mm depth chassis supports flexible deployment options including desktop, wall-mount, and rack installations, making it suitable for space-constrained environments . The built-in DC power supply ensures reliable operation in data center and telecom environments. With support for intelligent stacking (iStack) of up to 9 switches, comprehensive IPv6 features, and advanced security mechanisms, the S5736-S48S4X-D serves as an ideal access or aggregation switch for campus networks, metropolitan area networks (MANs), and data center networks .
