Product Overview

The Dell EMC PowerEdge R830 is a high-performance, four-socket, 2U rack server engineered for scalable database applications and dense virtualization deployments. It combines compute-intensive processing power with highly scalable memory capacity (up to 6TB) and impressive I/O capabilities, making it well-suited for demanding enterprise workloads including ERP, data warehousing, e-commerce, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), databases, and high-performance computing (HPC) data nodes.

At the heart of the R830 is the Intel Xeon processor E5-4600 v4 product family, supporting up to 22 cores per processor to handle multi-threaded, compute-heavy tasks with ease. With 48 DDR4 DIMM slots and support for both RDIMM and LRDIMM memory modules, the platform delivers exceptional memory density for in-memory databases and large-scale virtualization environments. The system supports up to 16 × 2.5-inch hot-plug drives, providing flexible storage configurations to meet diverse capacity and performance requirements.
