The Huawei CloudEngine CE6820-48S6CQ is a next-generation, high-performance fixed-configuration data center switch. Designed for high-density 10GE server access, it serves as an ideal Top-of-Rack (ToR) solution for modern cloud data centers and can also function as a core or aggregation switch in high-end campus networks .
This 1RU switch provides 48 x 10GE SFP+ downlink ports and 6 x 100GE QSFP28 uplink ports, with the 100GE ports backward compatible with 40GE for flexible network design . It delivers a switching capacity of 2.16 Tbps and a forwarding rate of 470 Mpps, ensuring non-blocking performance for demanding workloads .
Built on Huawei’s VRP8 software platform, the CE6820-48S6CQ supports advanced data center features such as VXLAN, BGP-EVPN, and M-LAG for multi-device link aggregation, enhancing reliability and scalability . It also integrates RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet), Priority Flow Control (PFC), and Explicit Congestion Notification (ECN), making it suitable for high-performance computing and storage traffic . The switch supports flexible airflow designs (front-to-back or back-to-front) with hot-swappable, redundant power supplies and fan trays, simplifying deployment and maintenance .
