Product Overview
The Huawei S12712 is a core switch from the S12700 series of Agile Switches, designed for next-generation high-quality campus networks. Built on a fully programmable switching architecture, the S12712 enables fast, flexible function customization and supports a smooth evolution to Software-Defined Networking (SDN).
The switch features a highly reliable CLOS architecture with separated system control boards and switching boards, allowing SFUs to be configured on demand and upgraded in the future for smooth campus network evolution. Key components operate in redundancy mode to minimize risks of system breakdown and service interruption.
The S12712 integrates an industry-leading native Wireless Access Controller (AC) capability, managing up to 10,240 APs for unified wired and wireless network management. It also supports innovative features including VXLAN, free mobility, intelligent HQoS, iPCA, and SVF. The switch adopts a left-to-rear ventilation channel for improved energy efficiency.
The S12712 supports the innovative CSS2 hardware clustering technology, enabling 1+N backup of MPUs on modular core switches, ensuring that an MPU failure does not affect service data exchange of the entire system. All key components—including power supplies, fans, MPUs, LPUs, SFUs, and cluster cards—support hot-swapping.
