Huawei S12710 Switch – Product Information Sheet
Product Overview
The Huawei S12710 is an enterprise-class core switch from the S12700 series of Agile Switches, designed for large campus networks and data center environments. It belongs to Huawei’s CloudEngine series and is built with a fully programmable architecture based on Huawei’s self-developed Ethernet Network Processor (ENP) chip.
The S12710 adopts a modular chassis design that supports flexible expansion with various service cards and interface types. It features an integrated built-in hardware wireless LAN access controller (WLAN AC), enabling true convergence of wired and wireless networks. The switch supports iPCA (Packet Conservation Algorithm for Internet), which allows on-demand, point-to-point detection of any service flow to facilitate precise service management.
Built on Huawei’s self-developed Versatile Routing Platform (VRP), the S12710 delivers high-performance Layer 2/Layer 3 switching capabilities while integrating MPLS VPN, IPv6 hardware support, desktop cloud, video conferencing, and various other network services. It supports CSS2 hardware clustering with 1+N main control unit backup, hardware Eth-OAM/BFD, ring network protection, and other high-reliability technologies. Key components including power supplies, fans, main control units, service boards, and switch fabric units all support hot-swapping and redundant backup.
The S12710 is one of four models in the S12700 series, alongside the S12704, S12708, and S12712, allowing customers to select the optimal configuration based on their network requirements.
