Product Overview
The Huawei CloudEngine S5731-S48S4X-A is a next-generation standard gigabit access switch that provides 48 Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports and 4 fixed 10GE SFP+ uplink ports. Built on Huawei’s unified Versatile Routing Platform (VRP), this switch delivers enhanced Layer 3 features, simplified operations and maintenance (O&M), Intelligent Stack (iStack) technology, flexible Ethernet networking, and mature IPv6 capabilities.
The switch features a front-access design with an integrated AC power supply, making it suitable for standard rack-mount deployment. It supports iStack, which virtualizes up to nine physical switches into a single logical switch, improving device reliability through redundancy backup and link aggregation while simplifying configuration and management.
Key capabilities include VXLAN-based network virtualization for automated service deployment, SVF (Super Virtual Fabric) for simplified network O&M with plug-and-play client support, and built-in security probes that integrate with the Huawei HiSec Insight system for network-wide collaborative security protection.
The CloudEngine S5731-S48S4X-A is widely deployed in enterprise campus access and aggregation networks, as well as data center access and metropolitan area network access scenarios.
