IBM 00E2872 Overview

The IBM 00E2872 (Feature Code 5899) is a PCIe Generation 2.0 x4 short form-factor adapter that provides four highly reliable, wire-speed Gigabit Ethernet (1GbE) ports.

Based on the energy-efficient Broadcom BCM5719 controller chipset, this adapter is engineered specifically to deliver high-density network connectivity for enterprise IBM Power Systems deployments. It uses standard copper twisted-pair cabling and features RJ45 interfaces that support auto-negotiation, allowing backward compatibility with 100 Mbps and 10 Mbps legacy networks.
