Product Overview
The Huawei CloudEngine CE16816-DC is a high-performance modular data center core switch belonging to the CloudEngine 16800 series. It is the data center switch built for the AI era, designed for large-scale data center deployments, cloud computing environments, and cross-regional computing power scheduling scenarios such as integrated big data centers.
The CE16816-DC features an innovative backplane-free Clos switching architecture with cell switching and VoQ (Virtual Output Queue) technology. It provides 16 service slots and 9 switching fabric module slots, delivering massive switching capacity of up to 178 Tbps (hardware switching capacity) and packet forwarding rates of up to 921,600 Mpps. The switch supports high-density port configurations including up to 576 x 400GE, 768 x 100GE, 768 x 40GE, 792 x 25GE, or 792 x 10GE line-rate ports.
The CloudEngine 16800 incorporates the unique iLossless intelligent lossless algorithm that learns and trains network-wide traffic in real time, implementing zero packet loss and end-to-end microsecond-level latency to achieve maximum throughput. The switch supports intelligent O&M with millisecond-level telemetry data collection, enabling fault location within 3 minutes and prediction of 90% of risks.
The DC version (CE16816-DC) is specifically designed for -48V/-60V DC power environments with a strict front-to-back airflow design and a 32.3 U chassis height. It supports comprehensive virtualization features including M-LAG, VS (1:16 virtualization), and Cluster Switch System (CSS), as well as VXLAN routing and bridging with BGP-EVPN control plane.
