Huawei CloudEngine CE9860-4C-EI – Data Center Switch
Product Overview
The Huawei CloudEngine CE9860-4C-EI is a next-generation, high-performance modular Ethernet switch designed for data center (DC) environments. As part of the CloudEngine 9800 series, it features an advanced hardware architecture that delivers high-density 400GE, 100GE, and 40GE ports with ultra-low latency.
The switch chassis supports four flexible full-width card slots, enabling flexible combinations of interface cards. It supports up to 32 × 400GE QSFP-DD ports or 128 × 100GE QSFP28 ports (also compatible with 40GE QSFP+ optical modules) depending on the interface cards installed.
The CE9860-4C-EI runs on Huawei’s next-generation VRP8 software platform and supports abundant data center features. It seamlessly integrates with CloudEngine 16800, 8800, 6800, and 5800 series switches to build an elastic, virtual, and high-quality data center network (DCN), meeting networking requirements of data centers in the cloud computing era. The switch can function as a core or aggregation switch on data center networks and can also be deployed as an aggregation or core switch on campus networks.
Key differentiators of the CE9860-4C-EI include its high-density 400GE/100GE/40GE aggregation capacity, large 65 MB system buffer to effectively handle incast traffic bursts, M-LAG for cross-device link aggregation with independent upgrade capability for zero service interruption, the iLossless intelligent algorithm for lossless networking to meet RoCEv2 application performance requirements, comprehensive Telemetry and iFIT for intelligent O&M, OPS (Open Programmability System) with open APIs for flexible network programmability and automation, and ZTP (Zero Touch Provisioning) for automated deployment.
The chassis is supplied without fan boxes and power modules, which must be ordered separately. It supports 2+2 redundant, hot-swappable power modules and N+1 redundant, hot-swappable fan modules.
