Product Overview
The Huawei CloudEngine CE8868-4C-EI is a next-generation, high-performance modular Ethernet switch designed for data center core, aggregation, and access networks. It is purpose-built to address the evolving network requirements of the financial industry and other enterprise sectors undergoing digital transformation, where distributed application architectures demand high throughput, high reliability, low latency, and easy scalability.
The switch chassis is 2U high and supports four half-width flexible subcard slots, enabling flexible combinations of interface cards. It delivers high-density 100GE/40GE/25GE/10GE port connectivity, supporting up to 32 × 100GE QSFP28 ports, 64 × 40GE QSFP+ ports, 128 × 25GE SFP28 ports, or 128 × 10GE SFP+ ports depending on the interface cards installed. The 100GE QSFP28 interfaces can be split into 4 × 25GE SFP28 interfaces, and 40GE interfaces can be split into 10GE SFP+ interfaces for flexible deployment.
The CE8868-4C-EI runs on Huawei’s next-generation VRP8 operating system, supporting a rich set of high-reliability features, fast failover capabilities, low-latency technologies, and advanced data center features. The chassis is supplied without fan boxes and power modules, which must be ordered separately. It supports 1+1 redundant, hot-swappable power modules and dual hot-swappable fan modules for enhanced reliability.
The switch seamlessly integrates with Huawei CloudEngine 12800/6800/5800 series switches to build elastic, highly reliable, and high-quality data center networks that meet the demands of cloud computing data centers.
