The Huawei CloudEngine CE8860-4C-EI is a next-generation, high-performance, high-density, low-latency modular Ethernet switch designed for data centers and high-end campus networks. As part of Huawei’s CloudEngine 8800 series, the CE8860-4C-EI is positioned as a core or aggregation switch, helping enterprises and carriers build scalable data center network platforms for the cloud computing era.

Modular chassis design – The CE8860-4C-EI features a 2U chassis with four half-width flexible interface card slots at the rear of the chassis. Through flexible combination of different interface cards, the switch can achieve:

  • Up to 32× 100GE QSFP28 ports

  • Up to 64× 40GE QSFP+ ports

  • Up to 128× 25GE SFP28 ports

  • Up to 128× 10GE SFP+ ports

High switching capacity – The switch delivers 6.4 Tbps switching capacity (backplane bandwidth) and up to 3200 Mpps L2/L3 wire-speed forwarding performance.

Advanced hardware and software platform – The CE8860-4C-EI employs an advanced hardware architecture with high-density 100GE/40GE/25GE/10GE ports and is built on Huawei’s next-generation VRP8 software platform. It supports:

  • Extensive data center service features including high-performance stacking

  • Flexible airflow direction (front-to-back or back-to-front)

  • Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) – automatic loading of version files from USB flash drive or file server, freeing network engineers from onsite configuration
