The IBM System x3950 M2 servers are equipped with Intel Xeon MP quad-core and six-core processors that run at up to 2.66 GHz and have 9 MB of L2 cache and 16 MB of L3 cache. The Enterprise X-Architecture® x3950 M2 server is the fourth generation. It enables maximum performance for databases, enterprise applications, and virtualized environments by combining innovation with better dependability and availability features.

RAID 0 and 1 standard. The optional ServeRAID-MR10k SAS/SATA Controller provides additional RAID levels

Slots: Seven 2.5 Gb PCIE x8 I/O slots (two are hot-plug) per chassis with ability to scale to 28 slots in 4 chassis configuration
